Helmets Save lives, dogs on landings don’t!

What a week!

Good Friday my brother came down for Rossland for family easter. Friday we planned to go somewhere to bike but weather kept us here in Lethbridge. We were out riding with some friends hitting all the usual trails. On our way over to the uni trail, we stopped at dead fall to play around on the jumps and drops. My brother and I were hitting the fun little drop that has been there forever. I hit it once then our friend wanted to take some photos of my brother and I hitting the drop. After my brother hit it, I got the clear to go and started pedaling towards the drop and at the last possible second, I noticed my friends dog was sitting on the landing. I slammed on my breaks and slid off the end of the drop and took the hole fall straight to my head on the back side of the landing.

I thank IXS trail helmet for saving my life, I hit so hard I damaged my back. While in the ER after X-rays, CT scan and 5 hours later I got the clear that I didn’t break anything in my back just royally messed it up.

Why M43 cameras has change my photos

I have been shooting photos for a while I picked up my first SLR back in 2004 a good ol’ Pentax MZ-50. I started shooting action. Here are some images I managed to find on my old www.pinkbike.com profile.

When I enter College I managed to pick up a Canon Rebel XT. I started shooting more due to digital was cheaper to shoot and instate photo developing. I shot lots. Learned lots. I have owned lots of camera gear from 2004 till now 2015. Rufly around 10 camera bodies and lots of lens. But nothing really stuck and mad me want to bring these heavy large bodies and lenses with me all the time. Then in February 2015 an Olympus camera showed up in my Facebook feed. The OM-D EM 5 MKII. See my past blog about the switch.

This camera is awesome. I have been taking it with me on every bike ride and it has been changing the way I shoot.

Curtis and I have been working with novo watches for a bit over a year now here is the new edit we did. Disclaimer not all the footage is ours it was supplied to use from the riders of the novo team. ENJOY!

I have 2 life style photos ideas in the works. I will be covering my shoots with my new AEE POV cameras that are now supported of ISO FOTO Studios. Stay tuned for videos and photos.

Rossland, BC

Every year is head out to Rossland to get some well need R&R. Well my idea of R&R is hurling myself down a mount on my Mountain bike.

While I was there I shot and produced a promo video for a Bike Dirt Jump Contest called Hucken Berries Jump Jam. Its held every year in Rossland and its lots of fun. Here is the quick little video.

After the video shooting was done we still had some day light and I pulled out the lights and the big camera and shot some pretty cool dirt jumping photos.
